No "Change Password" option in Settings and Options?

1,136 81 July 4, 2018 at 04:48 PM
I decided to change my SD password today and was surprised to that I didn't see that option underneath Settings and Options->Account Basics . There is a reset password which break the normal UI standard of having a "change password" option. Reset password is general used if you don't have access to your password ( lost, forgotten ) so should probably be reserved for that use case.

Thanks for reading. Take this under consideration during the next design review. It usually doesn't pay to deviate from the standard unless there is some benefit from doing so. Right now it confuses the user who is used to the password change process working one way, and instead it works a different way.

"Reset Password" option works just like "Change Password" in terms of functionality. I would think it was a deliberate design choice that works for most people.

Reset Password requires you to have access to your email account, so someone can't do a drive-by password change if you happen to leave yourself logged in somewhere Smilie

This was an intentional change Smilie
