Definitely a nice TV but will be much nicer when it is down around $1399 for the 65" right before the 2019 models come out. Although if they have HDMI 2.1 I would wait another year for that version to go down in price.

Okay so I thought this was a good deal till I checked Samsung's site. If you are a student you can get this tv for the same price essentially using your unidays sign in.

I'm going to go ahead and wait a bit longer

Yeah this really isn't a great deal. It's a pretty TV, but very overpriced. Even at this "discount", which is available to anyone all the time that has a .edu email address via Samsung website as previously mentioned.

Anyways definitely wait to pick up this set a few months if possible, when it's price reaches the decent deal threshold

Any idea what q9fn might cost later in the year?

The q9fn is, discounting OLED, the best TV on the market right now, with the q8 following closely. Not sure what you're talking about.

I would say it is better than OLED, simply because it won't burn in (and in fact has a lifetime guarantee against it, although the guarantee is pointless as LCD does not "burn in")... Initially, OLED is better than the q9fn/q8fn, but over time this TV series wins in my eyes.
