Here we go again. About a year ago they priced a Zotac at this price which turned out to be a price mis-t@ke but they honored it. I randomly clicked a few stores and they showed stock.

Why did I just reserve one of these ??
Stupid Slickdeals....sometimes I hate you.

Wrong! See I can do that too by providing no sources to back me up. The list is super small https://www.geforce.com/games-app...nology/sli with most new games not supporting it at all. There are also performance issues on games that even support it.

do you think reserving it will make them honor the price?

They always did in the past. If after you reserve one they raise the price, when you pickup on the receipt it will show the discount as a price protection.

Won't this become the norm when the next general of GPUs is released?

Probably... I still have some time to change my mind, since it is reserved.

does adding to cart normally vs "activating 18 minute instant pickup" do anything in regards to reserving this price when they fix their oversight?

That depends if Nvidia ups the price on the next gen, like they did on the 1080 and 1070 over the 980 and 970. The 970 never really dropped after the 1070 was released. Either way, at $285, you shouldn't lose much when you want to upgrade.

Another question, I already have this exact same video card, would getting another to sli be more trouble than it benefits?

Yes, unfortunately games are not being optimized for SLI as much as they used to. It's better to have one more powerful card than two in SLI.
