Looks like a case for the iPhone X due to the notch on the side, confused me there for a sec!

So basically a larger, in size and capacity, and sturdier USB flash drive. These will be a staple to briefcases and backpacks, although I think for 250 gb the asking price is a premium. I'll wait for these to become more popular and in larger competition. Thanks OP.

Samsung just released a new 256GB version of their bar flash drive and it only retails for $85

Only real benefit should be much faster write speeds.

I generally prefer Samsung, but this is rated IP55, which means protection from dirt, oil, and other non-corrosive material. And more importantly, water from a "nozzle" from any direction (meaning you could hose it down). It really depends on what you're looking for. I guess if I were traveling a lot, I might prefer this Sandisk one.

Works if you don't intend to store valuable data. Flash drives are prone to failure much more than SSD storage devices.

Also wondering the same. Is IP55 certification really worth going over Samsung?

I have the 500GB version of this and for me the real benefit to these is speed. I actually hit about 490MB/s in bechmarking which is reasonably close the stated max and more practical use hits the low to mid 400's. From my research this is actually the fastest portable flash drive available according to benchmarks but who knows how accurate that really is.

I use it as a portable multi-os boot drive and it runs as fast as an internal SSD drive most of the time. I guess the rugged aspect makes throwing it in my pocket or bag a bit safer but that wasn't a selling point for me.

I can't speak for iOS devices but it works in all the Android devices I've used. It's a bit big to use with phones and I get slower speeds but it does work.

It's USB-C so I'd assume with the right adapter and formatting it would work with anything Apple.
