Lots of times this tablet has been $150 off. I wouldn't recommend buying one now with the new ones coming soon with a completely refreshed front.

Rumors have it late September along with the updated iPhones.

If you don't have an iPad and need one buy it. If you have one and are looking to upgrade just wait a few months.

yeah, considering the Apple Pro's are getting fairly significant updates this year (ala iPhone X treatments) I wouldn't recommended buying these yet. If you reeeaallly need an iPad now for mission critical 'work', get the $400 normal iPad and sell it later.

NOTE: This is the Wifi model, does not have cellular access, but you could always just tether to your cell phone and avoid having additional fees for multiple devices.

I'm not sure how much longer this deal will be available, as the place that notified me of the deal said it would end 2 days ago.

It is not the most slick ever, because you can find them on Amazon for around this price sometimes, but it is often a pain to find it in the color you want, etc. Normal Apple Store price is $999.

Keep in mind there are 2 more Apple keynotes where they are very likely to announce a new generation of iPad that will probably go on sale before the end of the year, however, I doubt it will be in this price range, as it is looking like it will be heavily utilizing some of the design features of the expensive iPhone X.

I sort of agree, but still bought one myself. My justification was...

1) We have no idea what the new iPad X or whatever they call it is going to cost. It very well could retail several hundred higher than the existing Pro.

2) I expect them to try and make the new one an edgeless display. Personally, I find that for a tablet the existing bezels are already a bit on the thin side as it is. With a phone it is no problem, because you can easily grip the entire phone along the outside edge... but for a tablet, especially for extended viewing / reading, I think some bezel is important. Same for gaming.

Also, I have seen $150 off on these before too, but why the TD? Is there another (reputable) place you can get these cheaper right now and pick your color?
