Different use case panels.
The TCL has awful gray uniformity and narrow viewing angles. So bad for sports or viewing parties. Good for HDR and home theatre use directly in front of tv.

LG has an ips so contrast is lower and blacks suffer. It won't pop as much in a home theatre setting.
It however has good gray uniformity and wide viewing angles. In would be a superior choice for a viewing party or wide room.

Reviews are pointing out really bad dark/ blacks and quick viewing degradation of center.
Anyone with this that can confirm or refute?

Don't like having gift cards for specific websites. I never end up using the full amount. Wish they would just drop the price to $500, would all over it!

That's the 55UK6300, basically LG's baseline mid-range model. This is for the 55UK7700, which is LG's lower tier premium model. The 7700/8500/9500 are LG's top 3 models for their LED backlit LCD TV line. Which of course doesn't include their super premium OLED line.

Colors pop off the screen, black is basically grayish because the true contrast is about 1k to 1.1k tops, rtings [rtings.com] just reviewed this model 7.6 score
