Got my pair when Slickdeals had them for $19.

Be advised, they are rated at four tons when both are in use, not separately.

What do you mean both on the same side to clear 4 tons? Obviously you can't lift both sides of the 4-ton vehicle with one stand. I've never thought about these ratings before so I'm unclear on your meaning here.
2 tons each.

Per the item description:
"Featuring solid welded construction, these professional 4 ton jack stands stand combined can support up to 8,000 pounds of weight a piece..."

"...a piece"? So 16,000 pounds? laugh out loud
Yep: 1 ton = 2000 lbs. 4 tons = 8000 lbs. Multiply by 2 jack stands = 16,000 lbs or 8 tons. [Edit: that looks like an error in product description, so cut it in half Smilie]

2 jack stands can support up to 8,000, not 16,000.

You're right. The product description is inconsistent at one point, claiming "these professional 4 ton jack stands stand combined can support up to 8,000 pounds of weight a piece." That should say "8,000 pounds of weight a pair." My math is good, though Peace

This is incorrect. The 4 ton rating only applies when both jack stands are in use. It is not 4 tons per stand.

Per operator's manual, on the first page, it states that "4 Ton Capacity per pair". Also, in the warning section on page 3, in bold print it states "Rated capacity is per pair!"

Edit: It looks like you've discovered your error. I agree with you that the description is poorly worded.

Do any of you have vehicles that weigh over 8000lbs? Sheesh.

Anyway, this is one of the few crapsman products that doesn't suck. They have shallow tops so that the prongs don't punch into the underside of your car when you use them on the pinch welds, unlike many other jack stands.

However, I got mine for 19.99, so I guess this isn't a slick deal, even if they are still worth this price.

No, but for the price does it really matter? Also, jack stands are one of those safety items I prefer to be rated for more than what I actually may need.
