I bought one of these from newegg. It has pretty big problems with gray uniformity. When there is a scene with a light background I see what looks like dirty spots on the screen. Also I have noticed some motion blur. I have been using a plasma for 7 years now and forgot about motion blur. It can be pretty distracting. Overall its a good tv. The picture gets super bright and the roku software works really well. If you are looking for a premium tv picture then I would look elsewhere and expect to spend a lot more money. Don't fool yourself into believing this is a high end tv for cheap.

Has TCL fixed the vertical banding that people are finding or are they sticking to the line that this is normal? I don't think the P series had this issue or as many with this issue. I just hate playing the order and return lottery. Quality control should've picked this up.

I think it's a pretty widespread issue. Return shipping is $75 and it took 2 weeks to get the tv in the first place. Newegg charges 15 percent restocking so returning is not an option for me. I figured I'd put this in another room and get a premium set for the living room at some point. At this point I'm just going to live with it.

Buy this thing in store or don't buy it at all imo.

If you waited all these years to buy a true 4K HDR tv - might as well wait a little more - Black Friday is around the corner.
