Not that a deal. Pretty normal price nowadays for a 500gb ssd. Bought the 1tb version of this drive from Rakuten plus $15 in points just one week ago.

Samsung > All.

Adata is decent, but still just a scratch drive and nothing more.

For important stuff = Samsung or SKHynix.

For non important things = anything pretty much. The low end stuff like (micron, pny etc...)

Agree with the above poster.

Until Samsung has a quality meltdown, always think of Samsung as the best SSD you can buy whether it's the Pro or EVO line. When the prices are similar, always pick Saumsung.

The EVO 500GB has been around $100 or less these past couple months. Set a Deal Alert for it and you won't miss it the next time it happens.

meh, the new western digital ones are pretty good as well as the intel ones

hp i think also made an interesting one that gets fairly cheap but its longevity is far less
than the new western digital black and samsungs (but peformance is pretty high for how
cheap it can get), currently the WD ones are forcing the samsung pro's to price cut as
they are similar or surpass in performance depending on specific use cases
