No remote for this to my knowledge, unless there's something different from gen 1 and 2 to ultra. You use your phone for pretty much everything. For example, if you open Netflix, YouTube, vudu, etc the same operation you'd do to watch it on your handheld you would do with this. The only difference, when you connect to your WiFi you'll have a TV looking icon with a WiFi band through it in the upper right of the screen. Click that, select your Chromecast and your TV will pull up a splash screen from whatever service you're browsing. If you open a show, most of the previously mentioned services, will bring up a description and some details (synopsis, runtime, rating, etc) about it to your TV. Hit play and it'll launch on your TV. Your handheld is then free to be used for anything while it's playing, however, if you need to pause or rewind you'd have to open the app once more.

EDIT: if you have the assistant on your phone, or a google home you can tell it to pause/ rewind 30s and avoid pulling out your handheld once again.

Careful... There are THREE chromecasts

The original one and "gen 2" or "chromecast 2" only do 1080p, and are basically the same hardware except for WIFI chipset. (and both the Gen2 and Ultra are a similar-looking hockey-puck form-factor)

Chromecast Ultra (in this post) is the THIRD chromecast released and the only one that does 4k. It also has a substantially faster CPU, comes with the ethernet adapter in the box, has even better wifi than gen2, etc. If you are buying a chromecast at this point DEFINITELY buy the ultra!

Ugh, ordered this via Google Express an hour or so ago with the 25% code. Crossing my fingers that Fry's gets a similar price before it's fulfilled.

I bought the Chromecast 2 and it still overheats with the AC adapter. Anyone else having the same issue? Does this Ultra have that issue?

How did you use that 25% off code on this via Google Express? Chromecast Ultra is an excluded item (https://support.google.com/expres...er/4625275).
Would love to be able to use that promo code on this. Thanks!

If you buy yet through the google store, then it's excluded - if you use another seller, such as frys, you can apply the 25% off code

How does this work?
Do I use a phone as a remote, or can I buy a remote for this?
