These are killer deals on 4K brand name LEDs! If you don't need smart, that is.
I've got a smart Samsung and never have the need to use the smart features.

Folks are looking to upgrade an old 40" set that has some annoying quirks; need something approximately that size. No HDR and the perhaps-irrational fear that there won't be a way to turn off the 120hz soap opera effect have me wanting to look elsewhere. Seems to me the best deals on HDR+Smart TV sets are only about $50 more. Opinions?

Here are JVC's info pages on the 770 series sets. It looks like only the 43 does not have HDR.

I'm looking for a nice TV / screen. I have a 4k Roku so I don't need that - or similar - baked in. Would this in a 50" or 55" be something I should consider? Something that's good, but perhaps not great for sports? Given the age of my current TV just about anything would be an upgrade. That said, if $50 more gets me something better I might consider spending more.

I just grabbed two hoping they might be a good computer monitor. If not, back they go. Any opinions?

If I'm looking at this right, the mounting holes are entirely on the bottom half, no?

Supposedly 120HZ ordered the 55" one. Will compare to the 55" TCL 5 & a old Panosonic Viera Plasma to compare colors & blur when it arrives. The price is good, and if the quality is there a way better buy than the Spectre or Insignia for the low price.

Zero chance this is 120Hz, but at this price you can't go wrong.

JVC used to be a top electronics maker, now I'm not sure who makes the panel for them, I'd guess it's the same TV as some other suppliers.
