Bought last week. Installed. Buying another for $5 less because it improved my kid's AIO with a bootup time of less than 15 secs.

Will be installing on another AIO

Damn these are getting cheap, can anyone justify if spending $25 more for the evo 860 is worth it or is this reliable enough ?

860 Evo @$100 has expired. You'd have to wait on that. But it may be worth the peace of mind

I have the EVO and another one from CRUCIAL and i really cant tell the difference between the two unless i do a side by side comparision... After upgrading to ssd my bootup time is hardly 3-4 seconds.. Highly recommend to upgrade to an ssd, best thing you can do to your laptop...

Ultimately any drive can fail so you should have a backup and if you do the question then is only how inconvenient it is to restore the backup and possibly cost to replace the drive.

I have an Adata flash drive from years ago, 16gb. It's been through the washer and drier a dozen times at least, and it's now just the chip / board and USB connector as the shell fell apart.

Still works. I'm personally pretty impressed by Adata for budget flash storage

For a boot drive, yes get the 860. Backing up 500GB every night isn't that hard now but still its a pain if things fail, and ssds don't fail gently.
