Tax in CA (shipped from Ontario, CA). But good deal nevertheless! Thanks OP!

Propane converaion voids the warranty if I recall. Doesn't mean ya shouldn't do it.

I think they should call this genny a ef1600is since it's rated output is 1600 watts, like my Generac iX2000......it's rated output is 2000 watts with a peak rating of 2200 watts. Just sayin'

Good deal on a solid machine. I wonder if there is a model "refresh" in the works, similar to how Honda recently updated the EU2000i to the EU2200i? Personally, I'd still spend the extra $ for the Honda, but if the Yamaha fills your requirements, it's the next best option.

I'd sure like a close look inside the Yamaha unit, which Costco had for sale recently at 499.99. I wonder if it isn't built by the same company that builds the DuroMax (of which I now have 3 -- 2 gas-only XP2000iSs and the dual-fuel XP2000EH) and the Wen and the Sportsman and the Westinghouse and the ... that being Chongquing Dajiang Power Equipment Company, LTD, China.
I'm hoping it'll be a long time before I find out how well my DuroMaxes hold up to Honda!

Costco doesn't sell the Yamaha ef2000is v2 [yamahamotorsports.com], but does have a $500 A-IPower generator [costco.com] that uses the 79cc OHV Yamaha engine. But it appears that this Yamaha generator has some tweaks to keep it quieter like a better muffler and I'd guess it has better electronics than the budget model.
