Graco 4Ever is better than the extend2fit in pretty much every aspect. Pulled from https://firsttimeparentguide.com/...xtend2fit/

1) The Graco 4ever has a higher forward-facing height limit.
2) It can be used as a booster seat – both with high back and backless mode until your child no longer needs a car seat.
3) It's a space saver, especially in the rear-facing mode.
4) Wherever it faces, it's easier to install.
5) The seat harness is easier to tighten as well as the chest clip is easier to release and shut.
6) As long as you avoid the Matrix color, you'll get a more comfortable seat fabric.
7) It's easier to remove and put back the seat cover.

Great price. Target reduced their price recently also ($200 - https://www.target.com/p/graco--1...A-17267153), but this is a better deal.

Extend2fit has 50# vs 4ever 40# rear facing limit. Minor difference. Otherwise, 4ever is better.

Can you give some more info? Did Graco at least replace it?

If it's new, what does it matter? Because the plastic expires?

Yes, each seat has an expiration date. If it was manufactured a year ago, the amount of time you have to actually use the seat is reduced. At least that is my understanding.

Yes, child seats are supposed to be thrown away about five years after they are first manufactured. Supposedly, the plastic gets brittle and will not keep the kid safe if the seat were involved in an accident past the expiration date.
