Type "JBL Studio 580" into the search bar at the top and you will see that DJ3xclusive or Iconian have both posted this exact same deal at $380 every month this year.

When you go 7 solid months at the same price, it is no longer slick, then its just normal pricing.

EDIT: It is now a sponsored deal at the top of the FP. Further proof that JBL paid SD to post the "deal" here. If JBL is willing to pay SD to promote it, it clearly is not much of a deal, just normal pricing.

EDIT2: It is now a month since I posed this comment.... and the deal is back at $380 again. Shocking!

Is the $120/each price difference between these and the 590s worth it?

I've been running a pair of JBL Studio S38 bookshelf speakers as my side channels for many years, and they have been marvelous. But I'd like something that sits on the floor, so looking at these.

I am so, so broke! Drat!

Just did and saw 4 post this year so far and everytime sold out, that might be why it keeps coming up. What you are saying is like why post the 15% or 20% ebay coupon every month??? Because its a good deal....

Rechecking, they missed June. So there was a 580 "deal" posted only 6 of the 7 months this year.

There has not been a 15-20% off site wide ebay coupon every month.

Does not change the fact this is a good deal for good speakers. Wait for the center go on sale, and you got great fronts at a bargain price.

I posted the Q100's for $250 earlier this week, and it didn't do much despite being the best bang for the buck deal going right now IMO. SD went crazy over them at $300 last few years, but now there are more choices, and sales. People are getting way more speaker nowadays, for less money, and these deals are 2 of the better offerings to be found.

How do these compare to the ES90 also on front page?

Been an audiophile since I was 6 when I started playing around my dad's audio setup with his mixer. These are highly sought after, a must for serious audiophiles for the sound at this price compared to speakers that cost 2x-3x more and can't touch these.

Word of advice, stand-alone HT receiver is not good enough, get a seperate amp...an mid-tier Crown or QSC and use these connected as Bi-Amp to your receiver and you will see the true beauty of these Smilie When they do go on sale, the community gets behind them because they are great speakers and why these are posted a few times in the past and now

I have legit been waiting on this deal for 2 months since I bought the 520C center channel.

Someone convince me not to buy these.

Don't buy them, you really want the 590's.

Your fate was already made up buying the 520c. You've GOTTA get these. As you've probably heard earlier, these speakers have a cult following. Bought my 580s last summer - they came in perfect shape (no broken feet). I'm totally satisfied with my fronts now.

Wow.....

There is no such thing as an audiophile who prefers one-dimensional forward presentation and booming one-note bass, so I'm not sure what this is about. These are consumer-class speakers and sound like such.

For some people they'll be fine, but let's not mislead people into believing they're getting something that they're not.

A forum thread that sums these speakers up nicely can be found here:
https://www.avforums.com/threads/...s.1649702/

If you want an audiophile speaker in this same price range that is not a DIY build, the best I have heard are the HSU CCB-8 [hsuresearch.com]. Point source drivers with a haunting soundstage.
