Even tho 530 is brighter, theoretically, what is more important is color reproduction. 1070 has Cinematic Color technology which offers Rec. 709 HDTV color coverage and combines with the 6x speed RGBRGB color wheel.

This one will have better color reproduction. And lets be honest here.. we going to use projectors in dark room and that time 2200 lumens will be more than enough.

So i will go for this just because it has RGBRGB color wheel and has better color reproduction.

Was looking for a cheap projector to use outdoors, but I don't think this one will be bright enough.

Sorry I'm new to projectors, can you tell me how this one is better than the mh530fhd? I see that the 530 is a lot brighter but I assume this one has better colors?

Agreed....I think 3000 is about the minimum lumens you want for outdoor. Looking for the same. If one of the optimas go under 500 I'll be in on that.....I just hope it comes around before my wife's birthday......

Does this thing have 3d?
Site reviews and even user reviews are both given conflicting info on 3d capability.

I don't own this thing but the description of the projector says "supports multiple 3D formats". So it looks like it does.
