This Laptop is very thin and light and is comparable to models from other companies costing hundreds more. Even being a 15.6" Laptop and with a dedicated card, the weight of the laptop is actually similar to Dell Inspiron 5000 series 13.3" Laptop without any dedicated card. Also, the bezels are very slim on this, giving a high end look.
This Laptop literally checks every checkbox for premium and performance machine for Daily laptop:
Quad Core processor
  1. Full HD IPS Display
  2. SSD + 2.5" bay for Storage Expansion
  3. 8GB Ram and user accessible 2x SODIMM Slot for 32GB Ram
  4. Dedicated Graphics for moderate gaming and productivity
  5. Slim Bezels and very light weight despite being a 15.6" Laptop
  6. Partially metal Construct

Damn, add in a 10key number pad and I'd order right away, exactly the form factor/price point i've been searching for over the last month.
Everything with a good weight/thin/dedicated graphics/number pad keyboard is usually $1200+

I got one of these with an earlier deal and am very happy. Only minor gripe is getting to the additional storage...

I think you're referring to the Micro Center Deal I have posted earlier which is still active. Did you try to access the internals of this Laptop for Storage upgrade?

What exactly is the gripe? Is it difficult to access? If so, what is making it difficult?

Picked up this one but with 1tb+ 126gb ssd. Very happy with my purchase. It's a great everyday laptop and can handle most games okay. Very light too so makes it easy to carry to work and what not. Would recommend to anyone on the fence

I wonder why Asus official screen specs don't come out and say IPS? Always say 'Wideview'.

Again Cali tax adds $ for us folks over here.

I know this is not a 2-in-1 but I wonder if it's worth the $30 extra over this Dell which is $599 after student coupon

Things that don't matter to me: touchscreen, screen size as long as it's over 13".

Things that do: screen quality, ram, backlit keyboard, decent graphics.

Is the integrated Ryzen 7 graphics on par with the 2gb dedicated card on this Asus deal?

Last Asus I had the speakers were bottom firing and sounded terrible.

I mentioned this to couple of other threads too, lots of company, including HP, Lenovo and obviously Asus, are using the term Wide Viewing Angle instead of IPS now a days.

Bought this a couple months ago and not all that happy with it. After scrapping it and putting a fresh copy of Windows on it, it runs well but the keyboard is terrible. Very bouncey and the keys themselves are a little too mushy imo. Also, the trackpad is a little shaky. Not the worst I have used, but not as not as some of others I have used through the years.

They cannot be compared as their main purpose is completely different. If you need a very small form factor Laptop with decent power that Inspiron is a good deal. This, on the other hand, is a full blown Laptop with a lot bigger screen, better Graphics. It is very light but not as small as a 13.3" Laptop.
