Looks like the clock has come full circle :-)

I thought people moved away from this type of clam shell suitcase 20 years ago because they require twice the floor area to fully open and pack/unpack. And you cannot easily pack bulky items when the case is split in two halves.

A box with a lid style (like in most soft-side cases) became popular for a reason. May be today's 20-somethings are too young to remember all this ;-)

How are the 20"s for domestic carry on?

EDIT: Looks like they are good - "Cabin baggage meets the IATA recommendations and can be taken on board an aircraft."

Been stocking up on these whenever there is a good deal, these are my favorite bags to travel with, as there are no zippers to fail. Already own 2 28' and 1 of the 20'

This looks great! Baggage always beats up my luggage, so i have been looking into switching to this style, as it appears
to be much more durable. Thinking about getting a second for camera equipment. anyone know how thick the shell is?

Yup. The 20" size is perfect for a carry on bag. I travel at least once a month for work. Been using the same bag that's in the ok for almost a year now. Good versatile bag.

Security. No zippers is preferred because it's not as easy to break into.

United and Hawaiian use 22" x 14" x 9" as carry on dimensions...which this bag exceeds by about and inch and a half in one dimension =/

Its unfortunate but not all carriers adhere to IATA standards. Although you may not have too much trouble with this luggage if you had to check it at the gate, especially since its zipperless...
