For a lot of them, you can check Steam for user reviews. That's normally what I do.

These are mostly obscure though. Mercenary Kings, Slime-san, and Flinthook are all supposed to be solid. Slain: Back from Hell is supposed to be much improved over the initial release of the game, but it still seems to be pretty middling. Nothing else really stands out besides FIFA, but you probably already know if you like FIFA.

Anybody have any insight or recommendations into these games? There are so many indie games now it's hard to sift through the clutter.

Thanks. I was wondering what website people would recommend for that info.

Bomber Crew is a lot of fun on Steam, and I'll definitely be grabbing it on Switch.

I have my own Go To websites for bigger-name releases, but for relative unknowns you've got to trawl Metacritic a bit. I'd recommend demos when available but for some people free time is hard to come by.

I mostly stick with RPS (PC-centric site), Polygon, and Kotaku for reviews when I can. No idea which site(s) is/are good for Nintendo these days.

I will say that Hollow Knight feels like a steal at its regular price of $15, and ditto for Celeste at $20.

Who would have guessed a glorified tablet, of all things, would end up dethroning PC as my most-used gaming platform?

I usually check out reviews on Metacritic.

Agreed on Celeste - that deserves every bit of praise. The PS Vita used to be the indie machine and had a lot of these games, so checking Vita forums (reddit, Gamefaqs, etc) especially for ports of older ones would be effective.

Well considering the company who makes this glorified tablet arguably launched (or at the very least popularized) the genre and developed several of the best platformers ever created, I don't think that should come as much of a shock.

Hollow Knight can be had for $7.50. It is a steal at $15, but $7.50 is crazy. My GOTY thus far

Hollow Knight isn't in the list. Actually, there's not even anything in the list for $7.50...

It's the equivalent of $7.50 on the Mexico eShop. If you change the region on your Nintendo account, you can purchase from other countries. Note that you can not change your country if you have any gift card balance.
