Be careful reading the amazon reviews and their pictures - make sure the review is for the correct light you're interested in i.e. 10w and not the 50w

While it is possible it will be adequate, I couldn't find any specification regarding CRI (color rendering index) which would indicate how accurate the color temperature of the light is.

A high CRI is typically 85-100 which means that the led is producing the color of light it claims. With this light, they are claiming 5000 kelvin which would be daylight white.

The problem is that a lot of cheap LED's produce a green tinge mixed into the light which I have found can be very unnatural looking and difficult to match with other light sources.

If you are just doing basic product photography and using these led lamps as your sole light source, you will probably be fine. Any color shift caused by the lights can probably be edited out in post. They might require a lot of diffusion however as there is no way to dim the light and LEDs are typically a harsh light source as compared to fluorescent burned sources.

Seems like this would work nicely as an automotive work light, especially while underneath the car.

Nice I picked up a couple of the 10w plug-in lights. I had the battery powered versions (looks like identical casing) and they're pretty nice.

This one is 800 lumens. Are you trying to light up the whole room or just one wall at a time? This should be fine for one wall, but don't expect it to make the whole room like daylight.

I use a this light [amazon.com] for whole room illumination. And for smaller areas, or when i want the flexibility of a battery I use this one [amazon.com]. Neither is cheap, but they are bright and durable. Both are brighter than the one is this thread.
