They aren't noise cancelling but they are vastly better. They are pretty much the best headphones between 100$-300$, Not even counting the fact that with this deal you get an amp.

The best in that price range? Really? Im not so sure about that. If you are looking for closed back headphones, sure these are good, but the 100-300 range is chock full of great headphones. I know that to a certain extent is sujective, but personally, even my Phillips SHP9500 get a ton more use than the m50x. (and i got those for, like.. 60 bucks?)

Their are obviously preferences but these are all around the best in the price range.
