I wouldn't touch one of these with a 10 foot pole. Don't buy a used graphics card. Guaranteed to have been abused for mining.

That's what I'm thinking. 1060 6gb have been as low as what $279?? $70 to risk longevity makes absolutely no sense unless you literally do not have the funds, but then again, you probably shouldn't be buying a video card. No sale

I've actually heard that there isn't significant "abuse" done to previous mining cards. Since serious miners are trying to maximize hashes/watt, they undervolt and underclock the cards and they don't run very hot. They also run them 24/7 so they get up to temperature once and maintain that temperature. So there are also fewer heat cycles on the components than a card for personal use.

I just bought a used 1060 6gb sc single fan on eBay from a gamer.. not sure if he's telling the truth but the card is working fine so far.. He never registered for warranty so I registered it. I was wondering..is 300a good price point for a 1070ti given that I have a 1060 now... Mainly used it to play ff15.. Boy is that game taxing on GPU.. Any advice is appreciated.. also.. Someone locally sold his 1070 (not ti) for 250.. Wasn't sure was that worth the 50 bucks more than my 1060.

1070 is worth $50 more if you can afford it. Two more GB of DDR5. SLI option purposely made unavailable on 1060 for no good reason except to not cannibalize higher card sales. The stuff market dominant companies pull without competition is just shameful. 1070 gets you out of the bare minimum for VR. And if your main applications are GPU bound, it should be a no-brainer.

They run them with inadequate cooling to maximize space and energy costs. I'm sure all miners vary but I wouldn't be surprised if used cards directly from EVGA like this are ones that were given to them from mining farms in another country.

I'm not sure what the "B-stock" means, but I bought one of these EVGA deals well over a year ago for the 1060 and have had zero issues, mine did not say B-stock. I did some research ahead of time and came to the conclusion that EVGA had a big recall campaign, apparently the Video memory was not always making solid contact with the card-lenght heatsink. They offered to send people thermal strips for the Vram for those comfortable with taking the card apart, but most opted for just an exchange with the problem already addressed. I was purchasing a returned card with the thermal strip solution completed. I was alright with that, especially for the 1060, anyone paying the power bill to crypto mine would be doing it with a 1080 if they have any brains. I'm guessing the "B-stock" are cards that were returned for the fix, that were not in perfect cosmetic condition.

How does a 3 mo used Asus 570 4 gb for $130 compare to this deal? I am looking for the best value and there will be relatively little workload on it. It's my first build.
