You should clarify in the title and the post that this is not a universal charger.

It only charges a specific controller for a console gaming unit.

Seriously? The picture shows Nintendo Switch controllers

One review makes it questionable

No picture when looking at the Hot Deals list of postings.

You also have to think about ppl that don't own a Nintendo Switch and don't know what it looks like. To you, that may seem ridiculous. But when posting it really helps to be able to see things from other people's perspective.

Also a handy skill for life in general.

Agreed, I look at titles, not pictures.

The title is bad.

I need one of these but...only one review and I am not sure if a badly designed dock could potentially damage the batteries?

Not trying to be a douche but you should know that no console takes type c but switch. I instantly knew what it was for. Title isn't the best for those who can't tell a micro from a type c.

Agree, probably not the best item to use. But, people shouldn't complain because they can't tell the difference between a Cadillac and a Ferrari. Jesus man it's $5, and what controllers are blue and red. 😥

I don't play video games, everything you just said makes no sense to me.

At the end of the day, the title needs clarification.

If you don't play video games then you don't need a charger that appears to hold only video game controllers. I think you can tell that much just from the picture.

Knowing the difference between Micro USB and USB C literally has nothing to do with prerequisite knowledge of video games.

If anything having a smart phone is the most likely learning tool for understanding they are different cable types.

The final hurdle would be someone having an iPhone in which case all they know is the thunder and lightening cables which is fine. But there is the ominous god Siri they can ask if they wish not to Google it.

Odds are if you are on slick deals you have a computer and those that have computers generally have smart phones as there's no longer a price barrier (often flip style phones cost more than entry level smart phones).

What pictures? I see these deals on an RSS Aggregator. Titles only - no pictures.

When I see this title, there is nothing to indicate this is even about video games. And yes, I have no clue what the heck Type C is.

Do you have images disabled while browsing slickdeals? I'm all for a specific thread title but I half use the images, and this one shows a video game controller. I don't know jack about cars but I'll do my best to recognize a car part. I think that is what is confusing people about the comment.

To add a positive note here, be careful if you ever get a new Android phone that has USB C (the new standard) because some people buy the cheap (no name brand) USB C cables and have actually caught their phones on fire/destroyed them.

Look for a USB C cable that has a "56k Ohm resistor" in it (a good product lists this in description).

Also don't use a slower charging brick with these you'll quickly see how hot they can get. Get a good charging brick (use the standard one that came with phone)

For the past bunch of years Android phones have used the older cable type called Micro USB, and they charge at a lower speed so worst case usually a cheap cable would just fail prematurely compared to a known good brand cable.

USB C specification is a very high speed charging cable (fastest in phone history) and is very risky if you don't use the right cables.
