no clue what the quality is like on this brand. im pretty clueless where clothes are concerned.

"Quality" is subjective. As an ex employee I can say their quality has dropped tremendously since they got bought out by men's warehouse. I recently bought a few shirts from them and their quality was a night and day difference then previous shirts I've owned. Their top tier reserve brand is tiers below what their signature line was before. You can really tell the quality has gone down as they've cut a lot of corners with their manufacturing processes as well. Their shirts are no longer constructed well or even uniform as I bought a 34 length shirt where the sleeves were off by 1/2 inch.

Buyer beware. As a loyal customer for nearly a decade, it's a real shame that I can no longer give my trust and money into this brand anymore. I do still buy Jos A Bank but only their old stuff from eBay prior from their buyout. When they got bought out they phased out all of the jos a bank top tier stuff (signature gold shirts, platinum suits, etc) all of which you can get for pennies on the dollar on eBay now.

You are off on many of those points. There reserve is Italian wool (Zigone, lanifucio aaannnd others)with a floating canvas chest piece. Signature isn't. Very little changed since the merger outside of better fits, less ridiculous promotions.

I'm speaking specifically of their shirts when arguing signature vs reserve. If you want to get into techincally details their signature gold shirts were made out of silk, something they have yet to be able to replace with their "top of the line"... But if you want to argue their suits then very well...

Yes their reserve suits is a floating HALF canvas with italian wool. However compared to their signature platnium lines, they are wholly inferior. As their craftmanship as declined. First and foremost the platnium lines are full canvas. Starting with where they were made. In addtion their signature platnium line not only used italian merino super 150 but they were also constructed in Italy as well. I know because I have two of them in my closet right now...

Regardless of all that, their former signature line is still miles better then their current reserve line. Ignoring what they're advertising as "italian" wool. I have several signature, signature gold, and signature platnium suits in my closet right now. If at the lowest level (signature), it not only drapes better but you can tell it's better constructed as compared to their reserve line. Where they cut corners on, the former lines did not. Starting w/ the stiching, the cotton pockets, and the merino wool, which btw they stopped using since they got bought out.

If your own reasoning is because they have less ridiculous sales, then look again... it's still there. I petty the fool that actually pays full retail as Jos a Bank. Their selling practices have not changed since the days I've worked there, in fact if anything they're running more sales now with their deal of the day and xx% off of clearance at least 2-3 times a month.
