Single hose pulls air from room, cools it, sends it back into room. Also pulls air from room to cool the machinery itself and pumps that hot air outside (pumping some of your machine cooled air out). Dual hose pulls air from room, cools it, and send it back into room, also pulls air from outside to cool the machinery itself and pumps that hot air back outside (keeping your cool air in the room).

Yes it's a single hose, hence the price.

Dual hoses are better but much more expensive, there's no doubting that.

Window units are better still (than any portable), and are cheaper, but not for everyone since they require a fixed installation and a certain window type.

Even for a single hose, this one is well reviewed.

Doesn't necessarily mean its a bad thing... most are single hose, ESPECIALLY this cheap. Its still effective, just not as much. I personally prefer single hose since i already hate the giant plastic tube that has to go to the window, and depending on your use, may be much harder to accommodate two hoses

Just bought one with the 15% code and e*ates 2%.
Central air died and this will also be good as a spare, camping
trips via the tent and we camp at a stupid campground that doesn't
insulate their cabins so we will bring this to help the existing air.

Hope it works out for you. I've been eyeing these portable A/Cs for a while and finally bit on this deal. Going to use it for a very hot master bedroom, rest of the house isn't too bad with central air on.

FWIW we have 2 similar small LG portable air conditioners. As we don't have cental AC, we use these in the kids rooms if they need to nap or at bedtime. Yes the window units are probably better but these do actually work, at least to make it much more tolerable. We are in SoCal and close to ocean so we don't have to try to go from 100 degrees to 70, but these work on hot days where it's like 95 outside, 80-85 in the House, and bring the rooms down to 74-75. Doesn't make it super cold but it's so much better than not having them. They do make a fair amount of noise since th compressor is inside, but again totally worth it specially at this price.

Not a bad deal, but keep in mind they have it listed as "Buyer pays for return shipping". Glad I went with the Delonghi 12,000 BTU during the eBay 20% day.

edit: On second glance, in the item description it says: "If merchandise is received as DOA (Dead on Arrival) or does not function properly within 15 days from invoice date, we will send you a free return shipping label". Might wanna contact seller to get them to change the "Buyer pays for return shipping".

And that's why it sucks to sell things that could break in 6 months on ebay.
It also hurts ebay, cause there wont be anymore buyers, if there's no sellers.

I'm both a buyer and a seller on Ebay. What could someone be selling on Ebay that shouldn't last for 6 months?

I can't think of anything that shouldn't last 6 months, but maybe I'm wrong. Have any examples?
