Comcast Xfinity Internet 400mbps $60 YMMV

Just signed up for Internet Extreme Pro Internet 400mbps for $60.

There seems to be another thread for $40 that has 200mbps, which is more than enough for most, but I didn't have that offer in my area (Bay Area).

Just call regular number. I was able to get this deal rather easily with free professional installation.

Modem rental is extra, so bring your own modem

I am in SF

Most ISPs have 1TB cap, not just Comcast. More importantly, I highly doubt you get close to 1TB anyway.
I don't have a data cap but I am in philly. Comcast HQ city so maybe that's why.

No, not really. It's usually just smaller providers or only in certain regions that they have caps.

Just baffles me how Comcast has changed their speed tiers and lowered the UL speeds on almost all packages.

I'm perfectly fine with 100 meg down (99.999 percent of the time) but what I would give for something greater than a 10 meg downlink connection...

A quick question, what modem would you need at a bare minimum to get the most throuput for the 400mbps connection. Assuming you aren't renting the Comcast one.

My house does 1TB a week so data caps are definitely a no-go.

I just want them to do away with data caps and fewer outages. They're a monopoly here. I hate having to closely monitor mine and other people's data usage. This could have just been bad luck, but on the last day trying to use some data i rationed my connection shut off. I'm pretty sure they still throttle as sometimes after downloading a couple big games on Steam on the last day of the month the connection goes to 0MB/s.
