These are in downward facing fixtures over dining tables or such so that with the bulb pointed down at just above eye level you don't get direct glare and the inside chrome reflects the light back up into the fixture where a diffuser like a large translucent hat disperses the light all around.

Just grabbed some to see how well they look with the pendant lights over the kitchen island

I doubt slick dealers dine or manage these restaurants.
Some people, me included, have dining tables at our house, and we even have a light fixture over the table.

This looks like a good idea, I'd buy if we didn't already go with Edison style LEDs.

I have 1 bare bulb in my tenement where I spend all my waking hours plotting, this should work nicely. Thx!

You'd be wrong.

Ouch that's gonna leave a mark a comment with no evidence or experience.
I know, it provided about as much as yours. You just made a baseless assumption and you're wrong. Anyone eat at Longhorn Steakhouse? I do and I managed one and they use these lights. Texas Roadhouse uses these lights. Plenty of places use these lights that people (I'm sure plenty of slick dealers) dine at and some probably still manage.

Lol sure buddy nice comeback 👍 let's see that 60w above your giant kitchen table
I don't use these, I have regular half chromes above our dining table. The fixture takes three of these. I'm not a big fan of led type yet. I heard they flicker at low dimming settings

Ma' dear boy thou underestimates thine own gentlemanliness. My dearest wife and I regularily partake in the traditional evening supper time while gathered around a most elegant mahogany clad table and a beautiful crystal laden chandelier.
