So this won't link with UE boom 2?

Edit: looked at reviews and questions. This can be paired with any other UE speaker. In for 1!

Been waiting for these to go on sale from Amazon, I haven't bought a BT speaker in a few years and was impressed with the sound coming out of them.

Alright, I need advice.

I have two minibooms that are getting kind of old, and I need replacements for when I go out on my boat. How do these compare to the standard booms?

In the market for a new BT speaker and this wasn't on my radar but is tempting. Anyone own this that could compare it to the JBL Charge 3 and/or JBL Flip 4 (the two speakers I've been eying). I would imagine the sound / bass out of this is much worse due to the size, but like the idea of being able to link two together (and like that it floats).

Edit: Looking back at old threads, it seems like this price point is not that infrequent (especially if you don't mind a refurbished one, but even see that Dell had new ones + $25 gift card for $60 a few months back). Will probably pass for now and see if there are any Prime Day deals on the JBL options.

You can't link this model to another speaker for stereo. There is no app.

I think they sound great for their size, and get pretty loud. Good solid bass and no distortion at high volumes. These don't require an app like the UE Booms to pair up, they just do it automatically when you press the pair button on both at the same time. And they float, if you ever needed it to. I haven't gotten mine wet, but it's good to know I can and it won't sink. My only gripe is the battery life when you are paired up and at higher volume. I've done this a few times and they usually only last for about 4-5 hours. Makes sense though, usually with all these speaker brands, the rated battery life is at like 60% volume for a single speaker. Doubling them up and higher volume probably both cause that rating to drop.

Damn, I really want a new bt speaker, but I don't think this guy has an auxiliary port which is a feature I'd like.

I want to use it to watch movies on a mini projector and sometimes the sound doesn't sync right with Bluetooth

I own the Wonderbooms and having tried out the JBL Flip 4, I'd get a pair of JBLs instead if you can find them on sale. You can link up JBL speakers just like this, actually it's even better because you can link more than 2 with the app. Floating is the only perk of the Wonderboom which I'm pretty sure no one ever uses...it's basically just insurance if you drop it in a lake.

Anker usually has discounts on their products. Go to their website, scroll to bottom and sign up for their newsletter. I have the Flare and it sounds great (not awesome) and they do support linking 2 Flares for stereo sound via App. Students get 15% off. A few days ago, they had a Lightning deal on Amazon for $49.99. $59.99 currently.

PS: I heard the JBL speakers sound a bit more clear.
