I end up buying this monitor a few months ago when it not long after release but on sale. Compared with Asus ROG Swift PG279Q, Acer Predator XB271HK, and Acer Predator X27.

The purchase is a compromise - by paying ~$700, I don't get HDR and 4K, but all parameters are well enough for gamer's use. The reasoning is basically like this: at this time, if you find a monitor that's better than this one on all fronts, the price would be at least 30% higher; and anything potentially cheaper than this won't be better on any parameter by far and likely a bit more expensive after all.

I was worried about its VA panel, but after I got it I find it better than many IPS in color and brightness, while there's no bleeding light. It's feature is basic but all quite essential. I don't have any complain after this few months.

If you are thinking about buying this one, a few things you need to be aware of. First of all, read TFTCentral's review - and acknowledge that the high refresh rate is more gimmick than useful, which is the case for most VA/AHVA/IPS screens. The practical refresh rate is 120Hz.

The only thing I would consider an annoyance for most people would be its "fuzzy" edge of the screen. Probably to handle bleeding they made the edge of visible screen slightly dimmed in a way that you will notice change in color when you are very close to the screen or looking from an angle. However not quite noticeable in normal use. Another annoying thing for me is its "RGB wheel light" cannot be turned off - I am not a fan of RGB lights.

Also, BuyDig is Beach Camera and both name has a lot of history in market of electronics. They are good merchant and standing up to their product. My screen is perfect but I've heard cases that they accept replacement on dead pixel. Mine is delivered damaged the first time and they replaced it at once. They also sell open box units on their eBay site regularly and price tag on this monitor once reached around $550.

Is this or the Alienware AW3418DW better for gaming? I have Nvidea 1080ti card.

Both would be great. It kinda just depends if you like widescreen gaming or not. It is a little more immersive.

Anyone know what buydig's return policy is like? I am super picky with displays, this is exactly what I am looking for but if it has any bleed or dead pixels my OCD kicks in and I wouldn't want it lol

Because it's a hardware feature. Free Sync is pure software.

Your reply was blocked... is it a totally different technology from Freesync? I am using G-sync display but I cannot feel the premium experience

Oh, I can see it now. Thanks

I didn't end up buying this but in my research this monitor can also be easily overclocked to 165hz in the OSD as you can see in the specs.

DisplayPort OverClock: 2560x1440/144Hz, 2560x1440/165Hz (OverClock)

I personally went with the curved 32 inch Acer Predator Z321QU 165hz G-Sync which is very similar except that it's curved. The high framerate G-Sync is amazing and something you will never be able to go back from once you have it.

For this kind of high freshrate, you may need 1080ti.

Yes, definitely for higher end games you won't get the full 165hz. I haven't upgraded my gtx 1080 yet so while I can get 165 in more casual games like rocket league and diablo 3, when I recently tried sea of thieves on mythical/ultra i was getting 90-100 fps. The benefit being that you can get ultra smooth in easier to render games and as you upgrade your graphics card you will push to higher framerate, but i have also never seen tearing or seen stuttering when the framerate drops.
