I bought one of these and returned it. It's got potential uses but the light strip blows everything else away. Love my light strip. I also have a light strip (not Hue) that attaches to the back of my TV and achieves a similar effect to this. Ten bucks or so.

Reasonably priced compared to new. I have about 5 around my house and they are pretty dim. It's definitely more for mood lighting than anything else - don't expect it to brighten up a room.

I use as desk lamp replacements for my computer and it works reasonably well.

The Hue lighting strip, there's only one. Well actually there's a couple generations, the newest one has brighter blue or something. It's amazing to mount over a cabinet or under, behind a couch, etc. Totally transforms a room. I also recommend the dimmer switch.

For future consideration if blooms come back up again:

I have 3 of these, 2 Iris, 3 light strips, and apparently 19 other hue bulbs around the house (Google gives you a count when you tell it to turn off all lights).

The blooms are not your room fillers. They are accents. They are great for the new hue entertainment mode that mirrors game and video lighting from your PC. Good when paired with a lightstrip for this.

This is surprisingly good as a night light, or complimentary lighting in a room with a dark corner or a peice of art work to highlight.

If you are looking for full room lighting, the strips, bulbs, and Iris are the way to go, with the Iris being good for kids room due to its size protecting the bulb.

I own couple of these. First, they aren't that bright. As others above in the thread have indicated, they're more for mood lighting. But the worst thing about them - the color accuracy is horrible. Not sure if they have a gen 3 version similar to other hue products, but these lights are closer to hue gen 1 on reproducing proper colors. You're better off getting the hue lightstrip or a floor spot lamp that takes a standard A19 hue bulb. (gen 3 for better colors!)

I love the hue blooms! I own five and paid $37.49 on Amazon new. I use them for accent and mood lighting with live scenes. I want to get more at the price I paid but want new...not refurbs... at that price.
