mobile app scrolling Lag

1,992 54 July 12, 2018 at 09:35 AM
The app used to scroll up and down quick and smooth. Last few versions it is terrible. Very laggy, stuttery, and slow. This is on S9+ and also on the Plxel 2 XL.

Please fix this..

Seems to mostly be due to enabling the collapsible nav bars.

I've been experiencing the same lag issue with the most recent updates as well. This is even after installing LineageOs which fixed every other issue I had but this one still persists.

Same issue for me, except it's only on the front-page section.

This scrolling lag is ridiculous. Where did it come from?

I've noticed the lag is the worst when there are images on the page. If you go to settings and disable images on list, scrolling the thread list is faster. However the posts scrolling is still slow. I think the app isn't optimized for any Android device, I've tried it on multiple devices with the same lag.

Same issue on my Pixel XL. Thought my phone was slowing down. As others have mentioned iOS counterpart is fine on my iPhone 7.

If you are experiencing this issue please also submit feedback directly through the mobile app in the settings page, especially if you have a recent flagship Android phone.

I am seeing similar issues, along with tapping a FP notification from the pulldown seems to either hang or freeze the app for a period of time (the app never opens up to the item from that notification). Pixel XL 128 GB running recently released Android Pie. I feel like this started when I updated to Pie.

Also laggy outside of the SD app when scrolling between homescreen pages in the Pixel Launcher.

Turn off the collapsible navbar in settings and the app is significantly faster.

Thanks for this. It does definitely help, but the scrolling is still janky.

Agreed. It's bad on my S8 (snapdragon 835), and REALLY bad on my Tab S3 (820). How can such a simple app perform so poorly? There's also the issue of wasted space on Android tablets, but I doubt that'll ever get fixed.
