Eh... mine is new and has held ice for multiple days. Not familiar with the old design. Need to follow the recommendations to get good performance from it. Pre-chill before use and Coleman recommends something like 0.75 lbs of ice per quart of capacity. I know thats like 50 lbs of ice for a cooler this size and takes up tons of the internal space but guarantees you'll have ice for days. Use big blocks of ice like freezing milk jugs and fill in between with ice cubes. Also use cutup sleeping pads and other dividers to section off different sections and minimize air loss when opening. I've been amazed at ice retention I have been able to get out of this cheap cooler. Has cured my itch to buy a $300+ roto molded cooler that I would have to worry about someone stealing.

The cooler is $35.95 by itself so I guess this deal is really a couple double walled tumblers for $1.51 if you just happen to be planning to purchase the 70 quart cooler also?

Also... I picked this cooler up at an in-store price of $13 at a Walmart near me which was definitely slicker but definitely YMMV - check your Walmart App/Brickseek for stores near you with lower in store price on this.

The cooler works really well when I used to have it. Keeps stuff really cold but it's super heavy when filled

AVOID THIS JUNK! Coleman changed the design of this cooler and now its a total piece of garbage. It used to have heavy insulation and much thicker walls to keep things cold for several day. Now its thin, has large areas without any insulation at all, flimsy and melts ice in a day.

In my area (92602) this cooler is $49.97 by itself, but 50 miles away (92592) only $13, and 2 in stock.
Do you think will my Walmart do price match on it?

A good deal on a really good cooler. However, a cooler this size filled with ice and whatever you are trying to keep cold will be very heavy. Anything larger than a 50 quart size and I prefer it have wheels on it for easier maneuvering.

It sounds like you got lucky and picked up the older version of this cooler. Side by side with the same number of cans and 20 lb block of ice, the old chest goes 3.5 days. The new one goes about a day. I put a flashlight inside the new one and there are huge areas without any insulation at all. Also, the walls are half as thick as the original. The new one holds more cans, but at the expense of having thin walls and missing insulation.

Maybe Walmart is clearing out the old ones and that's why it was so cheap and only in stock at about 1 store in a major metro area. I tried the flashlight test on mine and saw no missing insulation spots except for the cup holder areas that are thin to start with. Walls are pretty thin on my cooler though... I can't imagine them going much thinner. Missing insulation maybe.
