T-Mobile adding more countries to Simple Global roaming and increasing roaming per minute charge

The calling rates and countries associated with Simple Global are changing. Check out these FAQs to learn more.

What's changing about Simple Global Calling?
Starting on your first new bill cycle following July 31, the cost per minute for calls within and between Simple Global countries and destinations (and from Simple Global countries back to the U.S.) will be $0.25 per minute, which is an increase of $.05 per minute.

In addition, beginning July 22, we'll expand the number of Simple Global countries and destinations from 154 to 210+ (see full list below).

Why are you updating these rates?
It is necessary to update our calling rates from time to time. We still offer one of the most competitive pay per use abroad rates in the industry with Simple Global included in your plan. We work hard to minimize the frequency and impact of these changes.

Where can I see the list of countries and destinations included in Simple Global?

Would be easier if they just listed what countries aren't covered at this point! Love T-Mobile, as an international sailor managing a family plan.

Haven't seen that in writing anywhere. No money to be made, too good to be true.

I share your skepticism although technically when they refer to "Simple Global" it usually refers to international phone, text and 2G data roaming. So I do have hope. I hardly ever make phone calls. 99% of the time it can be done via some app which uses data. I am on a employee Amplified plan so data is a little faster anyway.

Maybe T-Mobile will sweeten the offer to the US gov't to merge with Sprint to allow free roaming in North Korea Smilie

Question for some people...

If my phone shows Tmobile Wifi in ANOTHER country and I call a USA number... is that free or charged?

If I go on vacation with family and we both are on Tmobile Wifi and call each other, is that also free?

I understand it as simply providing a signal to call another number but you get charged regardless of who you call.

What is T-Mobile WiFi? If you are on a WiFi network and have Wi-Fi calling then you will not get charged when calling from outside the US.

I disagree. I am pretty sure it's free as long as you are calling US number on wifi calling. At least it was free in the recent past.

Set phone to Airplane mode then turn on wifi. This will ensure no network charges.
