It is a fake MSRP. They are normally priced around $60-70 everyday [ebay.com]. It is a pretty low quality fan with no light and shady marketing... I would avoid it. Just buy a quality fan from Hunter Douglas that you know will last.

THIS [costco.com] one is only $99, remote control, LED light, better construction, and looks much better.

You actually believe that this is a DC fan?

When you get it, take apart the speed control mechanism (on the fan itself). I'll bet it's not actually a DC motor. The motor enclosure structure and the description of 6 fixed speeds (rather than continual adjustment like a light dimmer) is all wrong for an actual DC motor.

The broken english all over the product description (and the manual) isn't exactly confidence boosting either.

Also, nowhere can I find a listing of its actual energy usage.

Oh get this: they show an Energy Star picture but are not Energy Star certified [energystar.gov]

This product looks way super scammy, I don't care if it's being bought from a store like Home Depot, I bet in the end you're just going to get yet another cheapo ceiling fan. Which can be fine, but it's not the same as a high end DC motor fan.

I like a good deal as much as the next gal, but please try not to get scammed by something that's too good to be true and shows all the signs of being a lie.

As with anything that needs some knowledge to assemble and wire, many people will state a defect which is actually operator error. Just my observation, of course.

My only other DC motor fan was around $400 and is worth it. The quietness, and air circulation (CFM) is about the same, very efficient. This is an incredible deal.

You may want to read the reviews first before making a purchasing decision.

Maybe you should read them more closely before making a statement.

Looks are subjective, however the fan you listed is not a DC fan and nowhere near the CFM output nor efficiency.

Get one with a remote.... numerous advantages over manual.
