Great drone for cheap. Comes with most things you would want, like a 1080p stabilized camera, GPS, brushless motors, and 2 batteries. The one negative is no controller, they expect you to fly from your phone.

I would suggest getting a cheap Parrot Flypad, it improves flying so much. They can also be found for cheap on tech rabbit or a get one with a Swing for just a little more.

I have the Bebop 1. I remember paying $500 for it years ago a couple days after it was announced and released. It was ok. Super deal at $80 though.
No need for a gopro i dont think. The camera quality and stability is fantastic for it's time.
No following mode or anything.
It does have GPS return-to-home, but I'm not so sure it ever worked for me.

I ended up plugging an XBOX wired controller into my android phone to fly it. I did not like flying with the touchscreen on the phone. Highly recommend plugging in, or bluetoothing a controller. It worked seemlessly with the app.

I dont think i ever got more than 8-10 minutes from a battery....and range really depends on the wifi strenth of your phone. i dont think i ever took it out of sight, or over maybe 100 yards away..

I dont fly it anymore as I ran it into a mailbox and destroyed the 2 wifi receivers on it.

I have a Bebop 2 and love it. However, a friend of mine bought a Bebop 1 and has been plagued with battery life problems. He can get maybe 1 or 2 minutes flight time with his best battery. So finding batteries that have life in them has been a challenge for him. Just a heads up. Though $80 is cheap, I think I would hold off on this one. Just a heads up.

yes you can strap a Gopro to this. You can also strap a Gopro to A Big Mac or a can of green beans.

"The Parrot Flypad was specially designed for Parrot's flying minidrone series; the Swing, Mambo, Airborne Cargo, Airborne Night, and the Hydrofoil."

Does the Flypad work with the Parrot?

Yes it works with the Bebop.

The Bebop has a lot of advanced tech, because it sold for much more a few years ago, and works well within it's limitations of 5-7 minute flights and range of maybe a few hundred yards depending on your phone's signal strength.

This refurb is a bargain for $100, even better for $80. I've bought a couple from Techrabbit and they've made good on a missing battery on one of them. So they seem like a good vendor to me.

Techrabbit is a legit reliable seller and I like Parrot drones.

The main drawback for me is the fixed camera. But that's why it's $80 and not $350.

7min flight is not brushless
You think that brushless vs brushed is all that determines flight time? They are indeed brushless. I own two of these. Flight times are more around 9 minutes on average with the stock batteries. I use packs of high 3 high density 18650's on mine and get 12-14 minutes. I built 6 packs for under $50 for well over an hour of flight time.

How do you build packs? Wouldn't you have to source the shells for the batteries since they latch into the body of the drone?

Really curious about building your own battery packs.

Got anything you can share about how to do it?
