Kindle Oasis is on a lightning deal with $50 off right now. YMMV. I can see that the 8 gb version is only claimed 3% whereas the 32gb is about 88% claimed at the time of posting.

Great deal for those looking at buying this. The 25% trade-in coupon applies as well. I believe you can get it applied immediately by selecting the instant payment option on the Kindle trade-in page.

I've been thinking about trading up from Paperwhite but just can't justify the price. Would love the bigger screen and audible support but man that's expensive.

Note that gold only comes in 32gb and there's currently a waitlist for the special offers version, but no special offers is still available! https://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox...G7&ie=UTF8

What are the odds this goes cheaper for Prime Day? (I've been eyeing it since it came out. But my nook -technically- still works)

(I'm left handed and need the buttons. I tried a Voyage but returned it because it can't be used one handed due to the sensor placements. My 7 year old Nook's literally falling apart).

edit to add: I hate they won't let me trade in other brands of ereaders.

edit number 2: I ordered the Oasis slow shipping just in case they have a better deal on Prime Day. I ordered a $28 warehouse kindle prime shipping. On the Oasis page I put my 'trade in,' which has to be returned before the Oasis slow-ships. I got a $15 gift card for "my" tradein and then an additional $62.50 off for the 25% discount. So my total (if you count the $15 that's not actually there yet) is $122.49 plus tax, plus $29.75 for the other kindle, so $152.24. I really hope this works out.

Items: $249.99
Shipping & handling: $0.00
Lightning Deal: -$50.00
Kindle Trade-in: -$62.50
Total before tax: $137.49
Estimated tax to be collected: $7.91
Total: $145.40

Yeah, even trading in my Voyage on top of this deal still leaves it at like $140.

the different weight distribution and physical buttons has me tempted. but most would be served best by a paperwhite

Yep, I got the newest Paperwhite for a smoking deal at $50 and I love it but I just wish I had a audible support maybe a bigger screen. I don't understand why Amazon doesn't have Audible support on all their Kindles, they would be supporting their own ecosystem. I'd love the tactile page turn buttons too. but at least I be getting that Kindle for like 150 and it still seems too steep for what it is

Well....not sure the Paperwhite has speakers, so Audible wouldn't work.

The other kindles do not have speakers either to my knowledge. It is all based on Bluetooth headphones. I would imagine that they would have to redesign the internals of a Paperwhite to include a Bluetooth module

Just FYI they take the 25% off the $250 price not the $199 Lightning Deal price so you can do the trade in and get $62.50 off then $50 off for the lightning deal bringing the total to $137.49 then I had received $25 for my PaperWhite trade in bringing my total down to about $110. Excellent deal for the Oasis! Thanks OP

how much does the 25% take off? (25% based on 249.99 or 199.99?)

Also the page says "Now available in Graphite or Champagne Gold.", but cannot find where to choose the color.

I kinda wanted the 32GB model, but the deal sold out.

Considering the 8GB model at $137 after the 25% off coupon.
