Printer around 50.00 that scans/prints and uses cheap replacement ink.

I have looked and looked. No printers gets Excellent reviews. I take that back, one Epson got excellent reviews but they were excellent because they were given the printer free.

All I have to go on are the reviews and reviews are usually good on BestBuy because you leave reviews and you get BB rewards.

Amazon seems to have the only true reviews but all printers on that site seem to suck.

I simply want a good printer that scans and prints and uses cheap ink and cost around 50.00 but don't want something made in 2015 or earlier. I need someone's review that isn't paid and has personal experience with.

Thanks.

I finally find a good one but Epson will update the firmware and make all generic ink un--usable. Dang it.

get a color laser it will cost a little more to start but 3rd party toner works better than 3rd party ink.

To some extent they all suck. Seriously, the race to the bottom just makes printers more chintzy and flimsy every year.

HP's Instant Ink program is something to look at. It actually sort of equalizes the ink cost between bigger nicer more ink efficient models and the cheapies.

What sort of monthly print volume do you expect? How much scanning do you do / do you want an ADF?

Why do conservative politicians oppose conservation?
Have you ever stopped to think the long-term GOP immigration policy might be to make the United States of America a less desirable place to live than Mexico?

Thanks guys. I had seen a thread here after doing a search for 'printers' and saw this thread:

https://slickdeals.net/f/11713115-canon-pixma-mx922-wireless-inkjet-office-all-in-one-at-39-99?v=1&src=SiteSearch

I got lucky, even with no Microcenter in my area, and got Staples to price match. Paid 41.18 after taxes. I had no idea Staples would actually price match since the Microcenter printer is pick up only.

Also purchased for 12.99 this ink (4 sets + 4 extra black cartridges) from this thread:

Figured for about 54.00 for ink and printer, I'm good for at least a year.

I got scared of Epsons since too many people saying they update firmware that makes generic ink un-useable. Canon has always worked pretty well with me so will give this a shot.

I didnt' look at laser because I don't really need quality. As long as I can read the text, I'm good.

HP has instant ink, you get free ink sent to you from HP, or you can subscribe to it, for like $3 a month for 50 pages. Also comes with spare ink.

I've been using a Brother MFC line printer since ~2005 and have had an overall positive experience. I had 1 clogged ink head but I just used that as an excuse to upgrade to one with wifi. The current model I have is the MFC-J485DW. I frequently see it or similar models on here for <$50 and ink is dirt cheap on e-bay/Amazon - like $1/cartridge cheap.

The MX922 is a good workhorse of a printer and it guzzles ridiculously cheap ebay ink with zero problems.

That's great. I got it for a family member and will hook it up Sunday. Hopefully there are no complications and everything works as it should.

I can't believe all the ink I got her for 12.99. That should last a good long while.

How is the printing from the phone on this thing?
