It's a bit old, but excellent contrast, and no rainbows :-)

yup, debating if I should pull the trigger, or wait a few more years on my current Epson 3020... The contrast on my unit is terrible, but the 5030 is superb.

In for one. Still in my return window for the Epson 2150 which I was very pleased with. 2150 was posted a few days ago at about $600 with Amex in Amazon.

The 5030UB sounds like a big upgrade in terms of quality though. This one comes with 2 sets of 3D glasses as well, which the 2150 did not.

I was charged tax in NY Frown

I think this is the model i tried a few years back and I liked it. Even though I am used to the black levels of oled and kuro elites, having such a huge picture makes a big difference. I didn't even get a screen... just showed straight on my wall and looked good. lol.

I would want a projector now if In could think how to arrange it. I doubt they'll let someone mount it on the ceiling in a place being rented, but who knows...

I went with the hd143x after a ton of research. 3000 lumens is great on it. Not sure if 2400 would be enough for most people in a main room... Half the price and the quality is awesome. Haven't seen this projector though but I'm more than happy. Might be something to consider if you dont have the budget or lots of light control

search SD and you will find plenty of threads. i can't believe anybody is willing to spend $1k on FHD projector which is already close to 4k. it's either HT2050 for $450 or 4k for ~1200-1500. the rest is plain stupid unless the throw rate only works for you with a $1k FHD projector.

I currently have an Epson 3500 I am pretty happy with, I tried looking around but didn't find anything obvious, would this be any significant upgrade?
