Anyone know if both the USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapters use the same chipset?

Edit: Apparently one is a Realtek and one is an ASIX.

Could you be more specific on which one uses Realtek etc. I have not heard of the other chip set. Is it also commonly used? TIA

When you end up using an USB port for ethernet port, you might as well as use a USB hub with additional ethernet port such as this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Alum...h+ethernet
I remember buying this long time ago much cheaper but have not used it. Perhaps time to pull it and at least test.

Find one for under $5 and I can see your point, but this one is so cheap, there is no comparison here.
