That was my bad. I had so many windows opened and I just put HD without thinking. Fixed.

Ya, slow as f**k...

but... and a big BUT, or HOWEVER...

If anyone is wanting or thinking about buying an Echo Spot or Echo Show, these fire tablets will work just as well, and on top of it you can still use it as a crappy tablet.

Amazon added the "Show Mode" to their fire tablets, which enables one to use their fire tablets as an Echo Spot or Echo Show. I bought 3 fire HD tablets I think last Prime Day, and were collecting dust. They're not the speediest tab and frustrating to use at times (even with the Google Play Store I side loaded). Decided to charge one up to see how well it would work with my Arlo security cams... the tablet updated Alexa with the "Show Mode". Made you watch a demo vid of the "Show Mode" (I was trying to exit or fast forward the vid, glad I didn't).

I have to say how impressed how well it worked. If you have experience with Alexa (e.g. Echo, dot, app, etc) you can teach it skills. Worked with my Sonos system ("Alexa play funk music in the dining room"). Arlo security cams streamed on it ("Alexa show me front door"). I was able to display recipes, hear the joke of the day, weather, everything I'm guessing a Spot or Show can do. I surprisingly was even able to call my mom. Couldn't believe it actually dialed her cell phone using my contacts.

To enable "Show Mode", All you have to do is plug your fire tablet to a charger and enable "Show Mode" on the pull down menu. Works fabulously! (Alexa quirks aside, I also have an insignia Bluetooth speaker with Google home app that's "smarter" than Alexa).

As a tablet, it's a meh deal. With the "Show Mode" enabled... this is a super deal. Give one to a family members as a gift. This is a killer deal as THE MOST INEXPENSIVE WAY of owning a Show Spot or Show Home!!!!!!!

Big thumbs up if you're in the market for the Spot or Home!!!

Again, anyone considering an Echo Spot/Show should buy this or the HD 8" or 10" and pair it with a decent Bluetooth speaker and this will blow away the Echo Spot/Home in sound quality (and still be a better deal even if you have to buy the speaker still).

Or anyone with a Sonos sound system can use this with the Alexa Skill...
