Not sure if I needed this to replace my NETGEAR cm500 on xfinity blast pro plan 250 but Just purchased since it was listed as compatible with xfinity. After tax comes out to be $138.57. Hopefully this is a good deal. Thanks.

Anything is better than paying to rent a router from an ISP. Renting a router is one of the biggest rip offs I know of.

It's a good deal, but no, you did not need it with your current comcast plan. The cm500 works just fine for the type of plan you have.

It is not a router. It is a cable modem.

I only bought this because it was one of the supported modem listed on xfinity. Would I see any noticeable speed increase with this modem versus the cm500 I have now? Thanks again for helping me everyone

I wish they made this in a "v" version with telephone. Wife still likes it lol. But the cm500v works perfect for me. Just a note if you buy your own cable modem for comcast make sure you call them and add the modem onto your account. Even though my modem worked great for two weeks, they shut down my access to the xfinity go app for local channels. (The app did not think I was home even though I really was). It was just a simple call to comcast to fix the issue, but still annoying.

It should be the same spee, but you'll have more room for speed upgrades in the future

Nope you wouldn't see a speed increase. Cm500 is 16x4 and would be good even to 400mbps. 32x8 is way overkill and only needed for gigabit.
