These are Dahua OEM cameras - IPC-HFW1320xx is the closest of the international models which appear similar.

How are these compared to the UltraHD model for $125?

I have 2 Amcrest ProHD wireless I use in my garage and entrance currently and I'm considering getting a full 4+ POE camera outdoor set-up. I would probably upgrade my switch to a Ubiquiti UniFi US-24-250W and use my QNAP NAS unless a standalone NVR is vastly simpler or cheaper. Decisions, decisions. Maybe 4K bullets on the front/driveway area and the $60 ProHD on other areas of the yard.

How is amcrest overall? Seems like people like it and I have 3 1080p cams that run fine enough for my apartment, but moving to a house soon and considering expanding the cameras, getting an NVR, POE outdoor cameras etc. Is amcrest ok to stick with or is there something else to explore (not looking to get too expensive either which amcrest seems to fall in the nice niche of mostly reliable and affordable)

Hi Blitzpa9

The Amcrest 8MP camera is significantly superior, and well worth it. You can compare it to $150+ Dahua OEM cameras from Chinese vendors.

a similar camera from B&H Dahua branded is listed for $358..

Do look at the LeChange Fry's deal - some good kits w/cameras

Hi Resputan,

Amcrest IP PoE cameras are Dahua OEM - and good products.

I just really dislike the hexagonal cross section design of some of their new mini-bullets.

Thankfully this one is not that.

The 3MP cameras are good solid cameras. They're based on the Dahua IPC-HFW1320xx camera. Note as a 1xxxx series model it does not have the IVS features the more expensive models have ( like the 8MP UHD bullet )
