exactly. i'm sick of companies like TP-Link, Netgear, even Linksys...who release half-assed firmware, then take months to roll out a fix. all the while whenever you call you're dealing with Tier 1 india or thailand and they haven't a clue about anything...making you waste hours and hours of time troubleshooting their garbage. then maybe 1 or 2 more roll outs to fix their own glitches and they forget about you regardless of what security vulnerabilities pop up in the future

wow props to Synology for being on top of their firmware updates and security vulnerability patching (not surprised, they and QNAP are really good about that stuff)

I have this router and it's fantastic. Worth every penny. If you don't need/want a mesh network but still want regular firmware updates get this router. It's updates are less frequent than their NAS products (about one every month and a half to two months for the router) but it's nice that they continue to provide updates for it.

Yeah, Steve Gibson, a security researcher talked about a botnet that affects these routers. I would not buy these.
