before anyone asks...if you are going for gaming, i think the 2700x is a better deal for $20-40 more. it beats the 1900x by up to 10% on gaming performance in pretty much any category and cheaper am4 mobos. get the 1900x /tr4 mobo for its features geared towards productivity/workstation tasks.

I agree and right now it is on sale on ebay for $280. More power, lower price, less $ for mobo.

I'm guessing the 20% off you listed and one point is a Amex program?

Yeah the 2700x pretty much beats this thing all around... If this were the 1920x, it would be a different story.

Is it just me or does the 1st and 2nd comment (1 comment replies to the other with out the reply button and both have a rank of 10--a sign they were babe at the same time) seem to be the same person trying to direct us to eBay?

I'm debating to buy this to use with the asrock motherboard that came free with the graphics card listed a few days ago and use the graphics card in the 2700x combo with better motherboard. Would this chip be overkill with that 350x board for an htpc that is streaming 4K content since I'm frankensteining a second machine with the free motherboard using existing power supplies and cases I have lying around. And if an apu would work which one should I get I'd prefer to keep the graphics card ram and cpu in the 500-600 range since this is a secondary computer.

this CPU will not work with the board listed a few days ago. you will need an x399 board for this CPU. Having said that, yes, this CPU is most definitely overkill for 4K streaming.

I'm planning on building a workstation. I bit on this. I used the Amex deals and the payment plan. No points applied, but I got the $60 off. This was a really sweet deal.

Edit: it said it worked but it actually didn't.

Lol its just you. My comment mentions nothing about ebay. You made the connection yourself.
