Funny thing is they up the price. It was already $40 I bought it and it arrived today. I asked about the 20% and they said it wasn't available for this item. I paid about $40

Thanks! Bought the like new one for $42 after 20% off before tax. Those are most likely return items that got used twice or less.

Big enough for two people. I have this model and love it. Cooking for 4-5 people I have to cook two batches. I need a big one.

To anyone who's considering this as their first air fryer, please listen first.

I bought this about a year and a half ago, for around the same price. Thought it was the greatest thing ever, until clean up time. It had to be cleaned after every use, since everything is closed off, otherwise you'll be cleaning a real caked on mess, and possibly be exposed to mold and bacteria. So I mostly used it to make simple things, like vegetables, as the clean up wasn't too bad. One day i wanted to try air fried bacon, and not only did it taste horrible, the clean up was an absolute nightmare. Chicken breast, burgers, basically anything for a meal that you wanna have and have it healthy, is gonna be a lot of clean up, and again, you can't really let it sit, because it gets really bad, really fast. So I stopped using it for a while and back to my crappy little toaster oven, which got the job done for the most part, not much capacity inside, and not many cooking settings. The basket on the Phillips eventually rusted out after about 6 months of no use. So the quality is not the greatest.

So recently, I got the Oster convection oven that is currently on promo from Amazon Prime for $60 bucks. Unfortunately I paid 100 a couple weeks ago. This thing is amazing, as good as a regular oven, with the option to use convectional air heat which is the exact same thing as the air fryer. This is something I wasn't expecting. It cooks food super fast using this option, plus you can set the temperature, and the timer. The plexi glass material door keeps most of the heat circulating, although when standing in front of it, I do feel some seeping out, which i didn't get with the Phillips air fryer. The best part is the clean up. Just line the tray with foil, cook on it, then throw out the foil after, no mess, and usually not even any crumbs. I wanted this really to be a replacement for my little Black n Decker 4 slice toaster oven, when it turned out to be a replacement for my regular oven, and my air fryer! It's also a pizza oven due to its round back and ability to hold most larger pizzas. I haven't cooked a pizza in it yet, but I will try in the near future.

So basically what I'm saying is.. air fryers are kinda overhyped, and Phillips is probably the best one out there based on reviews. From my personal experience, the Oster convection oven is so much better. Just takes up about twice as much counter space, it's a pretty big appliance.

I hope this has helped anyone who is looking to purchase an air fryer for the first time. I wish I read more reviews first. Total impulse buy on the Phillips. I guess the word "fryer" is what got me.. thinking I could have fried food, without the fat and calories. Air frying anything that tastes good deep fried, is gonna taste like crap air fried, with the exception of maybe some types of french fries, but I still recommend to brush them with at least a little oil.
