How's this compared to hyperx headsets? Comfort? Long hours?

How's this compared to hyperx headsets? Comfort? Long hours?
I owned everything from a 3rd gen Astro A50 (quit charging and when I tore it down to see if it could be soldered I had to put the project on hold and lost a few parts and broke the chassis making it definitely not worth it) to a pair of Plantronics that came in some bundle but more to the point, I have the HyperX Cloud IIs and had some GameStop points I was about to lose so got a pair of HyperX Stingers too.

The Astro's are definitely doing their styling right and none of the RGB nonsense that other brands are or using florescent plastic monstrosities that look like a Mountain Dew Code Red fever dream. But I very much like, even prefer how HyperX is much more minimalistic and understated. It speaks to how they're products are more serious and more adult.

This may be more personal preference but one thing I've learned from all these headsets is that I do not like a rigid chassis and certainly not a plastic one like the A40s. I'm not saying that the plastic looks cheap; actually, I feel the opposite that they look stunning with a metallic, industrial quality to them. Plastic is just simply not a comfortable or pleasant feeling material and it doesn't matter how comfortable the ear pads are, I mainly just notice the jabbing feeling of a rigid head band.

Our heads do after all do have muscles attached to various areas of the skull so something that flexes and isn't rigid is important for comfort. Also, I cannot stand the constant sound of plastic rubbing and creaking that comes from plastic/rigid headbands like the A40s.

You don't get this issue with the Cloud IIs which are padded aluminum so super light and flexible but strong too.

And in a day and age where companies spend more money on the box design than what's inside, Kingston goes above and beyond in not only including a USB 7.1 equalizer, honestly never used it but looks nice enough Smilie but, this goes back to the signed seriousness and adultness I referred to earlier, they even include an extra set of interchangeable ear cups, one set in memory foam and cloth, one in memory foam and leatherette.

You'd use the cloth covered ones, feel almost like a suede like finish, for long gaming sessions where your ears need breathability and to be cooling, allowing moisture out of the ear canal so they're not filling with sweat lol. The leatherette ones are less breathable but have slightly better acoustics as it's a stiffer material that doesn't absorb sound as much as cloth does.

Did I mention how the Cloud IIs have a detachable mic? There's a number of reasons as to why this is a nice feature but the one that stands out for me is it's an unmistakable, infallible mute button than the switches and swiveling mics that other companies use. I cannot tell you how many times I accidentally engaged the in-line mute switch of the Razer Krakens (speaking of florescent green plastic) that is used by engaging the button with vertical/up and down pressing...
Hey, Razer! You guys are telling me you never noticed that every time you raise or lower your head while sitting or , in the same vertical motion, picking up a headset and putting it on or taking it off, the cord and in line mute button rubs against your shirt? Do you know how many idiotic situations that accidental mute engagement caused, where I troubleshooted the Xbox, Xbox party, the game itself, the audio jack on the controller etc etc before even noticing that button existed?!! Lol

All in all, for my money, I like the HyperX much more than the Astros, A40s or A50s.
Admittedly, fit and feel comes down to personal preference so comfort is in the head of the beholder Wink Just go to a Best Buy and try them on.

They're both much better headsets than most of the other ones so you really can't go wrong.
