Nice price. But be aware helix does not let you download your raw data.

It looks like it's possible from National Geographic's site: https://genographic.nationalgeogr...dna-sample

This is the one I used. A lot better than ancestry's one that my wife tried.

I heard this only good for origin related stuff. That it isn't ideal for figuring out relatives and distance relatives. Is that true?

Ancestry? I've found cousins with it. My Wife and I have been asble to trace our connections to other people. And we've had 3 people close to us with major revelations - 1 found out their Dad wasn't their Dad (and found the real Father), 1 found out her birth Father, and 1 found out he had a Daughter he never knew about. In all cases it was a positive for each person.

at this time most other software and programs are not able to analyze Helix-sequenced DNA results, due to the greater complexity resulting from Helix sequencing. Please reach out to the operators of such other products with questions on Helix compatibility.

I can never understand why you would pay to willingly give a company your most private data and then give them the rights to use it how they please. All in the guise of discovering your "ancestry". Don't get me wrong these products sound cool, but read the fine print before you do this.
