Hello, I have been waiting for the right price to hop on this deal and today was the day.

Dysonoutlet via eBay has the hairdryer for 269.99 and using code "PRIMO" removes 50 dollars.

This brings the total to 219.99 plus tax.

If you have eBay bucks still, like me, it could be lower.

Why is the hair dryer so expensive????
1. It's a Dyson product. They spend lots of money on R&D. All other dryers ( $ - $$$$) has a similar design. There is handle, There is the motor on the back and it spits out air to the front.
In Dyson's design, the motor is in the Handle. The air gets suck in from the bottom of the handle and spit out the air through jet engine look alike top part.

What is the benefit of the Dyson vs Conventional hair dryer???

1. It will dry your hair faster, BUT it uses less heat.

The speed of hair drying depends on two things. How hot is the air X How much air does it move. Since traditional hair dryers share a similar design, ( lawn blower design ) The amount of air it pushes is somewhat capped the same. Therefore, expensive conventional dryer increases the temp to speed up the hair drying.... but that can damage your hair.
In Dyson's case, the new design allows moving more air vs old design. So it dries hair faster but it also does not use much heat as old type.

2. It's quieter.
It's noticeably quieter than other hair dryers. Many women use a hair dryer every single day.
It's more enjoyable exp.

3. It's ergonomic.
Old design hair dryers do not have even weight distribution. the back side is heavier. when you blow dry your hair 20 minutes while flicking your wrist. it's not fun. strong the hair dryer ( old design) heavier the hair dryer, accompanied with a longer neck. Dyson? weight is in the handle. the top part is light.

4. The temperature is controlled digitally.
Dyson monitors the temp multiple times a second and adjusts it to give you even heat.
Cheap hair dryer the temp actually varies a lot by how long you are using it.

5. Use less energy.

In Summary.
Dyson Hair Dryer is quieter, faster, the temperature is more even, It's smaller and easy on the wrist, use less heat and less energy. All this means you get better hair with Dyson. In a shorter time.

Can someone explain the added benefits of this product versus a standard $30 hairdryer from let's say Sally's? I'm genuinely curious, not thread crapping.

It's a toss up, but keep in mind that they have sold 2000+ units of them with only a handful of people complaining about condition.

Seller has 95 rating. Is it worth risk? Several people not happy with dryer. Some not functional others dirty etc

I bought a refurb and it was in perfect condition - packaging, dryer and accessories looked brand new.

These are shipped with attachments only. But there are many travel cases for cheap on sites like AliExpress or amazon

Yeah you get to keep 175 in the bank. Dyson is so ridiculously over priced just like their vacs.

Right, let's just assume this person is a hair dryer reviewer and is giving a legitimate unbiased opinion on something he owns.

Some people are willing to spend on certain things, others aren't. We get that, but that hardly makes for a good opinion.

Peace

I must admit, I was impressed by it at Best Buy. They had a working display.
Not $400 impressed, but it was small, very powerful, and wasn't annoying loud like most. I think the air is cleaner too, by the way its designed.

If you own any other Dyson and register it (I have a vacuum), you get 20% discounts almost non stop. Its usually on last years colors, but the same nonetheless. But that is still too pricey.
i'll have to dig more into this used/refurbished though.
