I would upgrade my $30 a month tmobile plan for this. Only thing I worry about is if they offer this, I get it, then they decide to close it. Then I can't get back into the $30 a month plan since it isn't available to the public anymore.

I went from the 30 a month prepaid plan, to a family plan. Then after a year, back to the prepaid plan for 30. (Around April 2018)

I stopped in a T-Mobile store to migrate my prepaid plan to a "Specially priced plan", well long story short, they weren't successful at porting over the number and when the rep was able to return me to the $30/month prepaid plan. Of course this is YMMV, but thought I would share my experience.

Couldn't they stop offering the $30 plan anytime too?

They've been pretty good recently about grandfathering plans. Just look at the $30 plan.

That would be a dangerous thing to do. There's millions of people on that plan. If they all of a sudden got rid of that low tier service plan, people would start moving to other services. I was always under the impression that if you left that plan you couldn't get it back. But apparently other people have different experiences with being able to get it back.

"...35 dollars plus tax." So, am I reading it wrong?

I am reading it as

$35 + tax(s) = ~$40/month

Or should I be reading it as

Service + tax(s) = $35/month

Here's unlimited talk/text/data for $70/month for two lines for people over 55. Includes mobile hotspot data.

Cheers!

This has been around for months in market trials, but I think TMobile forgot about rolling it out Nationwide.

I'm just guessing. It would make sense to shutdown/unadvertise a deal that impressive. Too many people were signing up for that deal, while they could make so much more money off of people. It was unprecedented to have unlimited text and 5GB 4G data (although it is technically unlimited data) for $30 a month. They offered that deal 7 years ago and plans have not improved today. They are actually worse. Metro PCS offers a plan for $30 a month for only 2GB of 4G data today. Here's a link to the "best current plans" available today:
https://clark.com/best-of-mobile-...ans-deals/

That tmobile $30 plan is still better than those plans and it existed 7 years ago. We consumers are like sheep. We just accept the garbage plans that they throw at us. Not that we have any power otherwise. There's suckers getting Metro PCs service for $30 a month for 2GB of data in 2018. LOL!

Hotspot at 3G, good for email and painful browsing.
TMo's 3G is like 2G (dialup) in reality.

Just ported my 3 lines out of the sprint BYOD plan, into ATT prepaid https://www.att.com/prepaid/plans.html

for $40/mth (have to use autopay), you get 8gb high speed data, no overages, plus I can call/text to Canada/Mexico, and use my phone while I'm in Canada/Mexico. Also have hotspot available. But for me, the canada calling/texting was the draw, since I have family in Canada and go several times/year. The multi line discount on my lines 2 and 3 bring the total to $100 before taxes, 3 lines 8gb each. it seems like the best i can find, till i'm eligible again for sprint.

just another option.

But you don't get T-mobile tuesday discounts! I usually save $5 on gas every month because of the Shell gas discounts, I got a free redbox movie today, and I got a $5 off atom tickets discount to use on a movie. I have movies around me for $5 on Tuesdays. So I can watch a movie for free. These discounts happen every Tuesday on t-mobile. Smilie
