Don't take the GC out of the final price. They're a pain to spend afterwards.

Earlier this year they were selling for the same price with a $150 giftcard instead of $100.

It's a very good monitor but I'd only recommend it to someone with a high end PC that can handle 144Hz, high graphics settings, and 1440p all at the same time. It's not worth lowering graphics settings or a lowered framerate to gain 1440p imho.

Last time I bought this for $379.97 + $150 GC, but it's of great pain to spend the $150 GC afterwards. So bad deal!

Despite others not needing the GC, I jumped on this over the newegg $330 deal. There's 10% at dell on certain cashback sites. So, after tax this was $404 - $38 cb = $366 + GC for me. I get taxed on newegg so I effectively paid $16 for $100 gift card with this deal.

2560 x 1440 is NOT 2K. It is technically 2.5K

1920 x 1080 is a 2K resolution. Along with other resolutions close to that.

I was surprised too, but its best to spread accurate information.

Yeah except the big draw here is Gsync.

I see it as gsync is good for when you can't consistently hit 144hz. It would let somewhat lesser than hi-end pcs still have a good experience.

True, but the cost of a pricey G-Sync monitor is better spent on upgrading the PC in that situation.

I just think that 1440p is overhyped because most people can't enjoy the benefits of it without having their game look worse in other ways (either low framerate or low graphics settings). I've got a decent gaming setup (i7 8700 and an overclocked 1060 6GB) and I'm very happy to be on a 1080p monitor because at this resolution I get high framerate at high graphics settings.

1440p is great for some uses like graphic design and programming (where you can fit more lines of code on the screen at once) but for gaming, it's at the very end of my list of upgrades that would be nice to have.
